El Titan De Bronze And General Cigar End Distribution Agreement

El Titan de Bronze, a small Miami factory known for making cigars for such companies as La Palina, Padilla and Warped, as well as its own branded cigars, has announced an end to its distribution agreement with General Cigar Co., a subsidiary of corporate giant Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG). The distribution deal was announced in early 2024 and lasted a little more than two years.

“Our agreement with STG officially concluded on July 30th,” Sandy Cobas, owner of El Titan de Bronze, told Cigar Aficionado.

General Cigar was responsible for distributing two of El Titan’s recent releases: El Titan de Bronze Nicaragua and a new version of Redemption. El Titan makes a variety of local brands (including a number of Redemption lines) that are sold directly through the factory, and were not part of the distribution deal with General.

“Moving forward, we will continue manufacturing [El Titan de Bronze Nicaragua], as well as Redemption,” says Cobas. “El Titan de Bronze will now resume direct control of our distribution, allowing us to work more closely with our retail partners and continue growing the brand.”

Cobas’ daughter Giselle Herrera, president of El Titan de Bronze, says the factory’s relationship with General remains strong. "We are genuinely grateful to General Cigar and to the people who worked on behalf of El Titan de Bronze throughout our time together," she says. "Their team helped introduce our cigars to retailers and consumers across the country, and we deeply appreciate the time and effort they invested in our brand.”

Since 2021, El Titan has made special versions of Cohiba, La Gloria Cubana and Partagas for STG. Herrera anticipates more collaborative projects in the future. “We value the relationships we have built and will continue to collaborate on special releases," she says.

Herrera says that in addition to taking full control of its retail relationships and distribution, El Titan is preparing to introduce a new portfolio of premium cigars. She says the plan is to reveal the new smokes at the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show in March next year. “At PCA 2027, we will unveil the next generation of El Titan de Bronze, led by a bold new portfolio of cigars that expands our range, elevates our blends, and signals a clear step forward in innovation,” she explains. “This new collection honors our roots while pushing the brand into its most dynamic era yet.”

Cobas has been making cigars in Miami since 1995. El Titan de Bronze was founded in Little Havana in 1997.
