Les Fines Lames Adds World Cup Line To Cigar Knife Series
The cigar industry is never one to pass up a momentous occasion. Company anniversaries and birthdays fuel brand creation, Lunar New Year cigars have become common and now the upcoming FIFA World Cup is starting to generate new, themed product launches. Oliva debuted a soccer ball humidor, Plasencia and OZ Family created new cigars to honor the tournament and Les Fines Lames, a French cigar accessories manufacturer, is joining the mix. The company just announced a limited-edition line of its Le Petit cigar knife cutters, with 48 new designs bearing the national flag of each World Cup participant.
“Representing where you come from goes beyond football, beyond borders, beyond a tournament. It is who you are,” says Fabien Kerneis, head of digital for Les Fines Lames. “For years, the community asked for their flag on Le Petit. The World Cup is the perfect moment to satisfy this long-time demand.”
Each cutter is made of painted wood and a sharp blade made from 14C28N stainless steel, an anticorrosive metal particularly well-suited for cutlery. The pocket-sized accessories are made in Thiers, France, which has a long history of cutlery and knife-making. Depending on how much of the cap you wish to cut, you can service up to a 70-ring-gauge cigar.
In addition to this one-time launch, Les Fines Lames is also running a World Cup final prediction pool on its website. Entrants make their predictions for the two finalists and winner of the World Cup. Then Les Fines Lames will pick four correct predictions at random, with each winner receiving a $500 voucher they can use on the Les Fines Lames website. Learn more and enter here.
The limited-edition cutters are available on the Les Fines Lames website now, and the company ships internationally. Each cutter has a listed price of $189, before shipping. The company says every order needs 10 days of lead time before shipping, to adhere to customization requirements.
Production size for these exclusive cutters is not limited, but the window to get one is. Les Fines Lames says the cutters will be available until July 19, or as they put it: “When the final whistle blows, the edition disappears.” The 2026 FIFA World Cup is slated to start on June 11, and the final will be held on July 19. The last World Cup was held in Qatar in 2022. Argentina, led by superstar Lionel Messi, defeated France in the final to become champion. Looking ahead to this year’s tournament, the top betting odds feature some familiar contenders: Spain (current odds +500), France (+500), England (+650), Brazil (+800) and Argentina (+900). And for the casual American soccer fans, you probably shouldn’t get your hopes up for a Cinderella story. The United States sits somewhere between +4,000 to +5,000 odds to win it all.
This 2026 FIFA World Cup has perhaps the most unique format in the competition’s history, at least as it relates to location. The tournament will be spread across the Americas, in 16 cities, hosted by three nations: the United States, Mexico and Canada. Here are the following cities hosting multiple World Cup games, separated by country:
- United States: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle
